Windows Activation Issue on Shadow PC

Introduction

Some users have reported that Windows appears as not activated on their Shadow PC, or that their product key has already been used on another device.This can prevent full use of certain Windows features.

Workaround

You can successfully resolved it by using the phone activation method described below.

Note: Messaging and data rates may apply as this method involves a phone call.

  1. Press Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type slui 4 and press OK.
  3. Select your current country (or the nearest one) from the list, then click Next.
  4. Call one of the listed phone numbers.
  5. The automated voice system will guide you through the process:
    • Say "Windows Activation" when prompted.
    • Spell out your Installation ID.
    • When asked how many times the key has been used, respond with "0".
