Issue
Shadow PC is unable to connect to the data center and start the video stream.
Cause
The Shadow PC process responsible for streaming was terminated by the operating system.
Here is a list of possible reasons:
- Insufficient system resources – Your local device may be running low on memory or processing power, causing the OS to stop the process.
- Overly aggressive security software – Some antivirus or firewall programs may mistakenly terminate the Shadow PC renderer.
- System power settings – Your device entered sleep mode or a power-saving state, interfering with the process.
- Operating system restrictions or conflicts – Some operating systems, such as those managed by a work organization, may impose limitations on background processes.
Possible Solutions
-
Shut down your Shadow PC
- Click the Help icon.
- Click Shut Down Shadow.
- Restart your local device
- Start Shadow again.
-
Check system resource usage
- Open Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (macOS) and see if your CPU, RAM, or GPU usage is too high.
- Close unnecessary applications to free up resources.
-
Disable conflicting software
-
Adjust power settings
- Ensure your device is set to High Performance mode in power settings.
- Prevent your system from entering sleep mode while Shadow is running.
-
Check operating system policies
- If you're using a managed device (e.g., from work or school), there may be system restrictions preventing Shadow from functioning properly.
