Issue
The launcher timed out while waiting to connect to Shadow PC.
Cause
A local network issue may be preventing Shadow PC from establishing a connection. Possible causes include:
- A system update in progress on your local computer
- A firewall or antivirus software blocking Shadow PC's processes
- A VPN or proxy interfering with the connection
- An issue with your internet connection or Internet Service Provider (ISP)
Possible Solutions
To resolve this issue:
- Check for system updates. If your computer is updating, wait for it to finish before launching Shadow PC.
- Temporarily disable security software. Antivirus, firewalls, VPNs, or proxies may block Shadow PC. Try disabling them and relaunching the app.
- Adjust firewall settings. Ensure Shadow PC is allowed through your firewall.
- Use a wired connection. Ethernet cables provide a more stable connection than Wi-Fi.

Restart your modem or router.
- Unplug the power cord from the modem.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and allow the modem to fully reconnect. The lights on the modem will turn on and stabilize when it's reconnected.
- Check your ISP's status page for any reported outages or network issues.
- Contact your administrator if your computer or internet is managed by your organization. Advise the admin to have their IT team review IP restrictions and ensure the necessary firewall ports are open.
