How to Order Multiple Shadow Pro PCs at Once (Multi-Ordering)
Do you need to quickly deploy multiple Shadow Pro PCs for your business or projects? The multi-ordering feature allows you to order up to 50 virtual machines in a single operation, directly from your Shadow client area (the Manager).
What is Multi-Ordering and How Does it Work?
Unlike cloning, which creates copies of an existing machine, multi-ordering creates new, independent virtual machines. Each Shadow PC ordered via multi-ordering starts with a blank main drive, ready to be configured according to your specific needs.
This is the easiest method to quickly equip multiple employees or set up a fleet of standard machines without having to duplicate an existing VM.
Conditions and Important Points
Before placing a multi-order, please consider the following points:
- B2B Account Required: Multi-ordering is a feature reserved for Shadow accounts categorized as "B2B" (those with a registered VAT number). If your account is "Particular" (Individual), please contact Shadow Support to request the conversion. You will need to provide your VAT number and company name.
- Independent Machines: Each ordered Shadow PC is completely autonomous and independent from its creation. There is no link or synchronization between machines purchased via a multi-order.
- Same Specifications: When placing a multi-order, all created machines will have the same specifications (offer, datacenter, main storage, etc.). You select the configuration once for the entire batch.
- Additional Storage: Additional storage is chosen during the order, but it's a new, distinct volume for each machine, not linked to another.
- Individual Billing: Each ordered Shadow PC is billed individually upon creation, according to the chosen offer and billing period.
- Individual Management: Once created, each Shadow PC can be managed, configured, started, or shut down individually from your Manager.
How to Place a Multi-Order?
If you have a B2B account, follow these steps to order multiple Shadow Pro PCs at once:
- Log in to your Shadow client area (Manager).
- Click on the "New Shadow PC" button.
- On the offer selection page, choose the desired Shadow Pro offer for all the machines you will be ordering.
- On the configuration screen, you will find the following options to define for your entire order:
- The Windows license type (provided by Shadow or BYOL).
- The number of machines to create (you can order up to 50 in a single operation).
- The desired billing period (monthly, etc.).
- The desired secondary storage (a distinct volume will be added to each machine).
- The default language/keyboard configuration for the new machines.
- Click "Continue" or "Order", then follow the steps to finalize the payment for all ordered machines.
- The creation process begins. Your new Shadow PCs will progressively appear in your Manager, ready to be used and configured individually.
Your new Shadow Pro PCs are now available in your Manager, ready to be configured and used by their users.
