Shadow PC allows you to configure the bitrate (or bandwidth) settings directly within the app. These settings control how much of your available internet data is allocated to Shadow PC, with a maximum limit of 70 Mb/s. Proper configuration ensures that your connection runs smoothly and without performance issues.
The first time you start Shadow PC, the app will automatically detect your internet speed and adjust the settings accordingly. You can follow the instructions in this article to modify these settings at any time.
Accessing the Network Settings
To manage your Shadow PC's bitrate settings:
- Open the Shadow PC launcher.
- Navigate to the Network tab.
- Next to Bitrate, you can toggle between one of the following options:
- Auto-detect: Allow Shadow PC to automatically determine the appropriate bitrate setting for your connection.
- Custom: Manually set a custom bitrate for your connection.
⚠️ Auto-detect is not available on all applications.
Auto-detect Setting
Choose this setting to let Shadow PC determine your bitrate. If you'd like Shadow PC to run the test again and reconfigure your settings, go to the Network tab and click Restart Auto-Detection.
Custom Setting
For more control over your connection, navigate to the Network tab and toggle the Bitrate setting to Custom. Then, select your desired bitrate.
When choosing a custom bitrate, make sure to set it to a value lower than your actual download speed. This ensures that the allocated bitrate does not exceed your available bandwidth, preventing quality degradation such as lag or reduced resolution.
Troubleshooting
If you continue to experience issues after adjusting your settings, troubleshoot your internet connection. Slow or unstable connections can lead to performance degradation, even with the correct settings.
