If you'd like to use a different Shadow PC offer, you can upgrade or downgrade without having to start a new subscription. Shadow recommends upgrading or downgrading to choose an offer that better aligns with your hardware needs and budget. Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrading your Shadow PC to a lesser offer will be processed at the beginning of your next billing cycle.
Change your Shadow PC offer
You can upgrade or downgrade your Shadow PC to any offer available on your account page.
Note that if you have a legacy Shadow PC offer, you will lose access to it once you change your offer.
- On your account page, click Shadow PC → PCs.
- Select the Shadow PC you want to change.
- Click the Change plan icon next to your offer.
- Choose your new offer and save your changes.
Before changing your Shadow PC offer, back up your important files.

Will I lose my data when changing to another Shadow PC offer?
You'll only lose the data on your Shadow PC under two circumstances:
- The offer you chose has less storage. Shadow will delete your data if the new primary storage drive is smaller than your current offer.
- The offer is unavailable in your current data center. Your Shadow PC cannot be migrated with its data and will require a reset.
How will I be billed when changing my Shadow PC offer?
Upgrades are billed immediately, and you'll only pay a prorated fee. You’re charged only for the remaining portion of the billing cycle based on the price difference between your old and new offer.
Downgrades will be processed at the start of your next billing cycle.
Does changing my offer affect the subscription renewal date?
No, your renewal date will remain the same.
