Shadow Drive Mobile Applications Features & Settings

Shadow Drive is available on the following mobile apps:
Android
iOS
The Mobile app can be used to set up your synchronization settings in detail, unlike the browser version which mainly allows you to go through your existing files, edit, and share them.

To set up detailed synchronization rules, we invite you to use the desktop Shadow Drive clients.

Main interface
Upon opening the Shadow Drive application, you are presented with your shared files on the main page.
In the top right corner, options to add, edit, or remove your Shadow Drive account enable seamless synchronization.
Additionally, you can access the settings menu on the top - left for further customization (see the following section).
Below the menu, you will find sorting options by A-Z, newest, older, and size provide organization for your files.
On the bottom right corner, by pressing the "+" button, you can upload files in variable ways:
Upload files from your local mobile device.
Upload content from other apps.
Upload from camera (directly upload pictures from the camera).
Scan documents from the camera.
Create a new folder.
Create a new text document.
Note: If your account is synchronized with Shadow Drive Mobile application, you'll notice a share and edit button next to your uploaded folders and files. This provides access to various options including renaming or deleting folder/files, moving or copying files, and sharing them with others.
Files View
Upon opening the Shadow Drive application, you are presented with your shared files on the main page.
Above your files, you will find three shortcuts to common actions:
Upload
Note: It might be necessary to access the Shadow Drive options in your phone settings to enable photos and video uploading.
Create folder
Scan
Note: It might be necessary to access the Shadow Drive options in your phone settings to enable Camera access.
Below these shortcuts, you can click the grid icon or to change your files icon size or click "Sorted by" to edit sorting options by A-Z, newest, older, and size.
+ button
At the bottom, by pressing the "+" button, you can upload files in variable ways:
Upload photos or videos
Note: It might be necessary to access the Shadow Drive options in your phone settings to enable photos and video uploading.
Upload files from your local mobile device
Scan documents from the camera
Create a new folder
Add folder info (opens a text file)
Create a new text document
Create voice memo
Share and Edit buttons
If your account is synchronized with Shadow Drive Mobile application, you'll notice a share and edit button next to your uploaded folders and files.
The edit button provides access to various options including renaming or deleting folder/files, moving or copying files, sharing them with others, and printing them.

"More" Menu & Other Views
By clicking on the at the top left side of your screen, you can access other views
All files (takes you back to your main screen).
Favorites (displays all your favorite files).
Media (lists all your photos & videos).
Shared (shows files and folders you've shared).
On device (allows you to upload content or sync folders with your mobile device).
Notifications (displays all notifications).
Uploads (enables you to upload files directly from your mobile app).
Deleted files (provides access to files deleted from your Shadow Drive).
Settings (to access additional settings; see more information in the following section).
On the bottom of the screen, you can click "Favorites" to only display your favourites files.
Files can be added to your favorites by clicking the edit button.
Media
On the bottom of the screen, you can click "Media" to only display your Media files.
Note: In the mobiles apps, you can only view media files.
We invite you to use the Shadow Drive web version in order to edit directly your media files.

Other Views
At the bottom of your screen, you can access specific files with different sorting rules by clicking the "More" button.
This will let you display files that only correspond to one of the following sorting rules:
Transfers (display uploaded and downloaded files from this device).
Recent (display recent files).
Shares (display shared files).
Manage offline files (display files that are available offline).
Scanned images.
Deleted files.
You can access the "Notifications" view to see all of the notifications that you received about your Shadow Drive.

Settings
At the bottom of your main page settings, you can access the general settings menu.
On this page it will allow you to change certain settings to optimize your Shadow Drive mobile application.
Data storage folder (allow you to set up your main storage folder on your local device).
Note: These folders are provided by the Android system as potential paths for storing app-private data.
In devices with multiple storage roots (such as those with a permanent SD card), you may observe additional or different options here.
Theme (you can change between our light and dark mode).
App passcode (allow you to setup a passcode or follow your device credentials).
Show hidden files (toggle between enable and disable to access to your hidden files).
Auto upload (select folders from your local device to automaticlly upload them to your drive account).
Note: Auto upload feature only works when Shadow Drive is disabled in apps where battery optimization is enabled.
By default, Shadow Drive does not upload files; you can only view them in the app.
To enable synchronized folders, you must utilize this setting.

At the bottom of your screen, you click the "More" button then "Settings" to access your settings.
You will be able to manage the following options:
Auto upload (synchronize your photos and videos to Shadow Drive).
Lock (add a password to access the app).
Enable Touch/Face ID (to access the app).
Splash screen when app inactive (replace the screen to hide your files when you are inactive).
Download the configuration profile.

Advanced
The advanced settings are described below:
Show hidden files.
Most Compatible (save photos as JPEG if it is possible).
Live Photo (save photos in the "Live photo" format if it is possible).
Remove from Camera roll (each new automatic upload content will be removed from your phone).
Note: You will receive a message at each upload to confirm whether the uploaded content should be deleted or not from your phone.
Disable Files App integration (do not permit the access of files via the iOS Files Application).
Chunk size in MB (upload large files to Shadow Drive by chunking them into a sequence of parts that can be uploaded individually).
Note: The chunked upload works only when the app is "active".
To remove the chunked upload, set "0".
View & Clear Log File.
Set Log Level (disabled, standard or maximum).
Delete all files older than a certain time.
Clear cache (clear downloaded and offline files from the app).
Reset application (remove all accounts and local data from the app).
Credentials
Click on your profile name to manage your accounts, provide an alias and retrieve certificates (server details and Push notification details).
FAQ
It is possible to edit text files (.txt or .md only as for now) on the mobile apps and the web version.
We are currently working on collaborative features, like Microsoft Office files format support.
However, it is not possible to edit media files on the mobile apps.
