Error code and message directory

This article lists Shadow PC error codes, messages, and possible solutions. Use your browser's search function (CTRL + F) to find your error code in the list. If the issue persists after you've tried the solution provided, contact Support and send logs. You can also check our status page for your issue.
Note: Shadow PC may display error codes that are not documented in this directory. If your code is not listed in this directory, contact Support and provide the error code in your ticket.

Code | Message | Solution |
A-100 | Sorry, the login flow cannot be started | Check that port 32600 is not already in use and try again. Learn how to make your firewall compatible with Shadow. |
A-402 | Account on hold | Your payment was recently due and we were unable to charge your payment method after two attempts. In accordance with our Terms of Use, your Shadow PC has been placed on hold and you will be unable to access the service. Your account is at risk of termination. You can update your payment method to restore service. Contact Support if you have any questions. |
A-403 | Invalid email or password. | Your account has been created, but our servers have not finished activating your Shadow PC or Shadow PC is unavailable. Check your email for more information. |
A-429 | Too many wrong email/password requests. Please try again later. | You've attempted to log in too many times and triggered a security mechanism designed to protect the account. Please wait at least 20 minutes. |
A-432 | Welcome back! | We detected your login, but you don't seem to have an active subscription. You can restart your subscription at any time. |
A-468 | Ongoing scheduled maintenance. | Your Shadow PC is under maintenance and cannot be accessed at this time. See planned and emergency maintenance on the status page. This error may also appear if you've reset your Shadow. |
A-469 | Your Shadow is being deployed. Please try again later. | Your Shadow PC is under maintenance and cannot be accessed at this time. See planned and emergency maintenance on the status page. |
A-504 | Unable to reach login server. Please check your internet connection. | The application could not receive a response from the login server. Either the login server is unavailable or something on the device is blocking this connection. See the status page for any known issues. |
A-599 | Check your internet connection. | Check your Internet Service Provider's website for any known issues in your service area. |
L-100 L-101 | Sorry, the Launcher failed to launch the streaming app | Try to start Shadow PC again. |
L-104 L-105 | Sorry, an issue happened when receiving the stream | Shut down Shadow PC and start it again. In the launcher, go to Help → Shut down. You can also try disabling High Efficiency Video Coding if the issue remains and the feature is enabled. |
L-108 | An unknown issue happened | Restart the app if the issue remains. Close the Shadow PC launcher and open it again. |
L-110 | Sorry, the Launcher failed to launch the streaming app | Contact Support and send logs from the Help page. |
L-200 | Sorry, an issue happened when starting your Shadow | Try to start Shadow PC again in a few minutes. |
L-201 L-202 | Our services are experiencing overload at the moment | Your Shadow PC is unavailable due to a server overload. Please try again later and check the status page to stay updated. We’re attempting to make your Shadow available at the earliest possible time. Thank you for your patience and understanding. |
R-0x(...) | An unknown issue happened | A local operating system error has occurred preventing Shadow from starting. Many variations of this error code may appear. Try restarting the app, uninstalling and reinstalling Shadow, or update your local computer. |
R:-1 | An unknown issue happened | Restart the app if the issue remains. |
R:-2 | Sorry, an issue happened when connecting to your Shadow | Reset your settings then start again. |
R-101 | You've connected to your Shadow from another device | Click Start to connect to your Shadow with this device again or continue using your other device. |
R-103 | Sorry, your session has expired | Restart the Shadow PC launcher and log in to use Shadow again. |
R-105 | Windows on your Shadow ran into a problem and needs to restart (BSOD) | In the launcher, go to Help and shut down Shadow, then start again. Windows stop code: {BSOD_CODE} |
R-106 | No primary screen connected so you can't connect a secondary screen | Try to connect to your Shadow PC on the device with the primary screen first, then enable secondary screen on another device. |
R-107 | The primary screen has been disconnected | |
R-108 R-109 R-110 | Sorry, an issue happened when connecting to your Shadow | The connection was interrupted or lost. Try to start Shadow again. |
R-200 | Sorry, an issue happened with the streaming services | Shut down Shadow PC and start it again. In the launcher, go to Help → Shut down. |
R-205 | Sorry, an issue happened with the streaming services | Shut down Shadow PC and start it again. In the launcher, go to Help → Shut down. |
R-207 | Shadow turned off because you were inactive | Shadow PC suddenly disconnected because the stream was idle for too long. Leaving Shadow PC idle will trigger the automatic shutdown mechanism. |
R-300 R-301 | Sorry, an issue happened with the streaming services | Try to update graphics drivers on your device and disable High Efficiency Video Coding (H.265). |
R-302 | Sorry, the current video settings are not supported | Try reversing any recent video settings changes, like rendering or decoding, and try again. Reset your settings if the issue remains. |
R-304 | Your local graphics drivers are not up to date | Update the graphics drivers on your local computer. See how to update your computer for a list of common manufacturers and references. |
R-500 | Oops, something went wrong. | You must be logged in to your Windows session and have Steam® and SteamVR® installed on your Shadow PC for us to start Shadow VR. Please log in and disable your Windows session password for future VR sessions. You can also follow our tutorial on SideQuest. |
R-501 | Oops, something went wrong. | |
R-502 R-503 | Oops, something went wrong. | It looks like you are not logged in to Steam®. Use the “Remember my password” option for future VR sessions. You can also follow our tutorial on SideQuest. |
R-504 | Oops, something went wrong. | You must have SteamVR® installed on your Shadow. You can also follow our tutorial on SideQuest. |
R-505 | Oops, something went wrong. | Sorry, it seems there is a problem with SteamVR®. Please close SteamVR® and restart 3D mode. If the problem persists, please uninstall SteamVR®, restart your Shadow, and reinstall SteamVR®. |
R-506 | Oops, something went wrong. | There was a problem. Please try again later or contact Support. |
S-101 | Sorry, an issue happened with the streaming services | Shadow PC is experiencing difficulty streaming on this device, likely due to the resolution, refresh rate, or other image configuration. |
S-102 | Protected content cannot be displayed on Shadow | Close the application displaying this content to continue. If necessary, you can force the application to close using ALT+F4. If the issue persists, go to Help → Shut down to turn off Shadow PC, then start it again. |
S-103 | Please, update Nvidia graphics drivers in Shadow | Your graphics drivers need to be updated to be compatible with Shadow PC's streaming services. |
U-101 U-103 | Sorry, your Shadow is slow to start because of our remote services not responding | Shut down Shadow PC and wait 20 minutes before starting it again. This should allow time for your Shadow PC to start properly. In the launcher, go to Help → Shut down. |
V-100 | Sorry, an issue happened when connecting to your Shadow | Try again and check your network if the issue remains. |
V-101 | Sorry, your Shadow is slow to start because of our remote services not responding | Shut down Shadow PC and wait 20 minutes before starting it again. This should allow time for your Shadow PC to start properly. In the launcher, go to Help → Shut down. |
VD-100 | An unknown issue happened | Try reauthenticating your session. On the Shadow PC launcher, click your name → Logout → close the Shadow PC application. Reopen and log back in to the Shadow PC launcher. You can also try using Shadow PC in Browser at https://pc.shadow.tech. If the issue persists, contact Support and send logs from the Help page. |
G-100 | An unknown issue happened while trying to connect to your Shadow | Shut down Shadow PC and wait 20 minutes before starting it again. This should allow time for your Shadow PC to start properly. In the launcher, go to Help → Shut down. |
G-468 | Sorry, you cannot connect to your Shadow at the moment | Your Shadow PC is under maintenance or is affected by an ongoing incident. Check our status page to learn more. |
