What is BYOL (Bring Your Own Licence)?

Our Shadow PC Enterprise Offers are currently compatible with three different licenses:

BYOL

The BYOL (Bring Your Own Licence) mode lets you use on your Shadow PCs a Windows 10 Enterprise (E3 or E5 64-bit) license that is compatible with most software on the market.

By choosing this option, you will benefit from a discount on the price of your Shadow PC but you will need to purchase or have a BYOL-compatible Windows 10 Enterprise license.

How to subscribe to a Shadow PC with your own Windows license?

  1. Go to https://shadow.tech/business.

  2. Click on "Register" and follow the instructions to create an account.

  3. Once you are registered, go to the "PC" tab and click on thecreate_button_en.pngbutton.

  4. Choose your configuration.

  5. Set the amount of extra storage you want to include with your Shadow PC.

  6. For the operating system, choose the "Use my own Windows license" option.

    By choosing this option, you will benefit from a discount on the price of your Shadow PC but you will need to purchase or have a BYOL-compatible Windows 10 Enterprise license.

  7. Fill in your payment information to confirm your order.
    Once the order is placed, your Shadow PC should appear in the “PC” tab.

  8. Assign your Shadow PC to a user in order to apply your license.

  9. Access your Shadow PC via the Shadow application (which you can download here: https://shadow.tech/shadow-apps/).

  10. Activate your license by following this guide from Microsoft: Activate Windows.

It is not possible to change the license on an existing Shadow PC. You will have to delete it and then create a new one.

How do I delete a Shadow PC?

  1. Click on the Shadow PC you want to delete. A menu will open on the right side of your screen.

  2. Click on the icons8-menu-vertical-24.pngbutton at the top right of the menu.

  3. Click on "Delete"

  1. Go to the "PC" tab and click on thecreate_pc_en.pngbutton.

  2. Choose your configuration.

  3. Set the amount of extra storage you want to include with your Shadow PC.
