S:102 - Unable to Display Protected Content (Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, HBOMAX, Hulu...)

This error message indicates that the content or program you're trying to access has been blocked on Shadow and other streaming services. Content is usually blocked to prevent users from pirating content on websites such as Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, HBOMAX, Hulu...

You need to close the app in order to regain control of your Shadow.

Use the [ALT]+[F4] shortcut to close it.

Workarounds

  1. Verify your browser is up to date, including all addons and extensions installed.

  2. If your browser is up to date, please check if the behavior is the same with another browser.

You may get a black screen when trying to use Netflix on Shadow.

This issue happens because Shadow is not HDCP (the High-Definition Digital Content Protection standard that acts against piracy) compatible yet.

In the meantime, you may still use Netflix by disabling the "Hardware acceleration" feature in your browser settings.

Go to SettingsAdvancedSystem.

Go to your browser's settings and disable the "Use hardware acceleration when available" feature.

You may get a black screen when trying to use the Netflix application from Windows on Shadow.
