Can I use a VPN with Shadow?

Updated

VPN clients have been known to interfere with Shadow's services. A VPN connects your device to a server over the internet, and adding these servers to your internet connection can increase latency and even prevent you from using Shadow.

As such, we strongly discourage using a VPN and recommend disabling or uninstalling any VPNs on the devices you'll use to connect to Shadow. We also ask that you refrain from installing a VPN on Shadow to avoid losing connection to your service.

If you've installed a VPN client onto Shadow and have lost connection to the service, you'll need to reset Shadow to factory settings. For assistance resetting Shadow, you can also contact Support.

Please take a moment to read our Rules and Restrictions on Shadow for more guidelines on using Shadow.
