How to set up a VPN on Shadow PC
Updated
Installing a VPN on your Shadow PC allows you to access your company network, including storage servers that may be located there.
Warning: Back up any important data on your Shadow PC before installing a VPN. An improperly configured VPN can disrupt Shadow services and force you to factory reset your Shadow PC.
Settings up your VPN
You can set up a VPN on your Shadow PC just like on a standard PC. To avoid data loss or service disruption, please follow these guidelines:
Use split tunneling in your VPN configuration¹
Split tunneling allows part of your connection to route through the VPN while keeping the other part open for Shadow services between your application and our infrastructure. This ensures that your VPN does not interfere with Shadow's connectivity.
¹ Split tunneling is a VPN feature that lets you choose which applications are routed through the VPN and which are not.
Avoid IP Address Conflicts²
Ensure that your VPN does not use IP addresses that overlap with those used by Shadow:
10.0.[1-8].0/24
² Overlapping IP ranges can cause connectivity issues, which may lead to the need for a factory reset of your Shadow PC.
