About Automatic Shutdown and Shadow PC Pro & Enterprise
Updated
Shadow PC automatically shuts down after extended periods of inactivity to maintain optimal data center performance, prevent hardware damage, conserve energy, and align with our Rules and Restrictions. It also helps dedicate our resources to users currently using their Shadow PC.
Windows will shut down when the automatic shutdown mechanism is triggered. To avoid losing your work, shut down Shadow PC when it's not in use.
Note: The automatic shutdown timer is dynamic. During an incident, periods of high demand, or peak hours, the timer may change to accommodate users.
Shadow PC determines when to automatically shut down using two methods:
Online Shutdown
Occurs when Shadow PC remains active while the stream is left open. A warning will appear when the Shadow application is streaming, but there has been no user interaction for a period of time (eg, no keyboard, mouse, or controller input). Without any input from the user, Shadow PC will shut down. To remove or prevent the warning from appearing, use Shadow PC or shut it down when it is not in use.
Offline Shutdown
Occurs when Shadow PC remains active after the stream is closed. A warning will appear immediately when you close the stream without shutting down Shadow PC. To prevent Shadow PC from shutting down, resume your session soon.
