How to factory reset your Shadow PC

Looking to refresh Shadow PC and start over? You can factory reset Shadow PC from your account page. A reset can help resolve technical issues or remove malware and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Follow the steps below to reset your Shadow PC, or contact Support for assistance.

Warning: A factory reset will permanently delete all of the data on your primary (C:) drive. Back up your data before resetting Shadow PC. If you have additional storage, the secondary (D:) drive will remain intact.

  1. Log in to your account page.

  2. Under Shadow PC, click All my PCs.

  3. Select the Shadow PC you'd like to reset.

  4. Click Settings Reset this PC.

  5. Type "RESET" as instructed in the pop-up window, then click Continue.

  6. Choose the new Shadow PC's configuration, language, and keyboard settings.

  7. Click "Reset my VM".​

Wait at least 30 minutes before starting your Shadow PC to avoid interrupting the process.

No. If you've reset Shadow PC from the System settings on Windows, you'll have to reset Shadow PC again. Reset Shadow PC from your account page or contact Support. The reset button from the account page will reinstall the components necessary to connect you to your Shadow PC.
