La durée maximale de session est une limite imposée sur la durée d'une session Shadow PC individuelle. Elle vise à éviter que des sessions très longues monopolisent les ressources serveur et dégradent la disponibilité pour les autres utilisateurs.

Cette limite ne doit pas être confondue avec le fair use, qui est un quota d'heures cumulées sur le mois : la durée de session, elle, s'applique à chaque session individuellement.

Comment voir combien de temps il me reste ?

A l'heure actuelle, il n'est pas encore possible de voir le temps qu'il vous reste.
Une fois implémenté, un compteur affichera directement dans l'overlay de votre application le temps écoulé et le temps restant de votre session en cours, mis à jour en temps réel.

Ma session va-t-elle être coupée sans prévenir ?
Non. Vous recevez une notification 15 minutes avant la fin, puis une seconde 5 minutes avant, afin d'anticiper la coupure.

Puis-je relancer ma Shadow juste après la coupure ?
Oui, la reconnexion est possible immédiatement, sauf si vous avez également atteint votre quota fair use mensuel.

La durée de session est-elle la même chose que le fair use ?

The maximum session length is a limit placed on the duration of an individual Shadow PC session. It's designed to prevent very long sessions from monopolizing server resources and degrading availability for other users.

This limit should not be confused with fair use, which is a quota of cumulative hours over the month: session length, on the other hand, applies to each session individually.

How does it work?

  • The countdown starts when your Shadow's stream begins, not when the Shadow itself starts.

  • It stops when the stream ends, not when the Shadow shuts down.

  • Starts triggered outside the client app (maintenance, updates) are not counted.

  • Once the limit is reached, the Shadow is shut down automatically (hard shutdown).

  • You can then reconnect immediately, as long as you haven't also reached your fair use quota.

It is not yet possible to see how much time you have left.
Once implemented, a counter will displayed directly in your app's overlay: it will shows the elapsed time and remaining time for your current session, updated in real time.

No. You'll get a notification 15 minutes before the end, then a second one 5 minutes before, so you can anticipate the cutoff.
